How to Make Spaghetti

If you want to make delicious spaghetti, you can see the detailed steps on Wikihow.com. There are some main steps for cooking spaghetti:

1. Pre-measure how much spaghetti you need for how many people you will need to serve.

2. Put a pot of cold water on the stove to boil. Wait for the water to come to a hard boil.

3. Pour some salt (1 tsp per serving) in the boiling water.

4. Break the spaghetti in half with your hands over the pot. To do this you need to place both of your fists over the handful of spaghetti like you're holding on to a bike handle. Allow only an inch of space in between each hand. Hold them (with the spaghetti) over the pot as close as you can, and push your hands inwards towards each other. This will break the spaghetti in half.

5. Carefully pour/place the spaghetti in the pot without causing any splashing.

6. Use a fork to stir the spaghetti for a few seconds, then allow the water to return to boil.

7. Turn the dial down to half-way (like a 5) or to minimum and allow the spaghetti to cook.

8. Stir occasionally, and allow the spaghetti to get soft.

9. Taste/chew-test the spaghetti to see if it's done. It depends on whether you want the spaghetti to be "done" at al dente stage or "done" at the soft stage.

10. Turn off the burner once the spaghetti is done.

11. Strain the spaghetti in a strainer and then put them back into the pot or a heat-resistant bowl. Do NOT put the pot back on the burner it was on!!

12. While the spaghetti is cooking, in a separate pan, pour in some pre-made sauce, cover with lid and set it to boil.

13. Turn the heat down immediately once the sauce starts to boil.

Once the sauce is done, turn off the burner and take it completely off the burner ASAP. This way you avoid overcooking it.

14. Mix some sauce into the spaghetti

You could also serve the spaghetti by pouring the sauce on top of the noodles, or serve the sauce separately as each person will have his/her preference of how much sauce he/she wants on his/her noodles.

15. Enjoy your meal!
